Decorate with Louis Vuitton luggage 'at auction'

You see designers incorporating Louis Vuitton luggage in their designs over and over. There is something very chic about vintage LV, and they make wonderful tables when stacked.

Instead of a sofa table in this modern Georgetown living room, the owners stacked up two vintage LV pieces - a trunk and a suitcase. Very smart looking, and a reference to their traveling life style.

Here is the perfect way to use two suitcases! They make quite the chic bedside table. Lots of room for your lamp, some flowers, and a stack of reading material.

I was happy to run across some wonderful LV luggage at the Doyle New York auction preview for their Doyle @Home sale January 11th. This group of 4 suitcases are Lot 202, and have an auction estimate of $800 - $1,200.

Bonhams  in New York has a sale coming up January 19th. There are a number of lots of LV luggage. This hard sided suitcase is Lot 1391, and has an auction estimate of $1,500 - $2,000.

This vintage LV trunk has a well worn look. This probably saw many sea passages, and the stories it could tell! This is Lot 1395 in the Bonhams sale and has an auction estimate of $1,000 - $1,500.

I like the idea of stacking luggage, and this group of three suitcases would make a great side table. These are Lot 1396 in the Bonhams sale, and have an auction estimate of $1,500 - $2,000.

Louis Vuitton trunks and suitcases comes up at auction fairly regularly. It's more fun to have the well worn pieces which have seen some of the world! They make very chic pieces of furniture when brought in to your decor.
